You make me want to return to the void of the womb just to relearn how to write. What was the most significant kind of literature you’ve read that contributed to your style of writing now?
vesperings replied:
Oh, that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me! Much of my "style" is resultant of a lifelong, very pretentious and dramatic, diary-writing habit. For that, there is no person better to look to than Anaïs Nin. She can be incredibly insufferable at points, especially in her unexpurgated writings, but no doubt she has served as my greatest inspiration to write more consistently and intimately. Only upon reading the first volume of her diaries did I begin to consider the act an art-form rather than merely sporadic venting in eyeliner scribbles. Not that my journals even remotely resemble art, but a lot of what I post online comes from them.
